Groups and Seminars

Groups

We need one another, now more than ever.

Coming together to do healing work in a group can be a profoundly transformative experience. This is why I aim to offer several ways to bring people together to build sacred communities committed to social and emotional growth.

Groups are forming in Troy Montana around the following areas:

  • Trauma-sensitive healing
  • Forgiveness and Loss
  • Supervision for clinical professional counselors

All groups meet for 90 minutes. Details on dates/times/location coming soon.

Customized full- or half-day workshops or weekend long events are another valuable way to grow with others. Please reach out to plan your next event.

Here is what the American Psychological Society (APA) has to say about the benefits of working in a group:

You’re Not Alone … “Joining a group of strangers may sound intimidating at first, but group therapy provides benefits that individual therapy may not. Psychologists say, in fact, that group members are almost always surprised by how rewarding the group experience can be.

Groups can act as a support network and a sounding board. Other members of the group often help you come up with specific ideas for improving a difficult situation or life challenge, and hold you accountable along the way.

Regularly talking and listening to others also helps you put your own problems in perspective. Many people experience mental health difficulties, but few speak openly about them to people they don’t know well. Oftentimes, you may feel like you are the only one struggling — but you’re not. It can be a relief to hear others discuss what they’re going through, and realize you’re not alone.”

Diversity is another important benefit of group therapy. People have different personalities and backgrounds, and they look at situations in different ways. By seeing how other people tackle problems and make positive changes, you can discover a whole range of strategies for facing your own concerns.”

Seminars

In addition to our signature event – Weekend on Forgiveness and Letting Go, Forever Forward Therapy offers custom designed seminars and events either here in Montana or at your location.  Events can be designed for individuals, couples, families, work groups, organizations, and teams.  I draw on my decades of experience in accounting, finance, and organizational development to create work related events with excellent results.

Our home location for events is Kootenai River Outfitters, which consists of a square mile of secluded private property in the NW Corner of Montana, just outside the town of Troy.  The lodge and cabins contain a total of twenty five beds and the entire property can sleep forty if some of the group are couples sharing a bed.  The showplace lodge is the gathering place for our group sessions and is modern rustic luxury. This property allows for comfort and peace, giving our guests a space to relax and focus on the topic of their seminar.  When you choose our location you are removing yourself from the stress of people, crowds, and noise, which generally enhances the impact of the seminar.

If traveling to Montana is not practical for your group, I can and will travel just about anywhere to bring a seminar you. Please contact me for more information on how I can create a great event for you and your group. Rates include travel expenses at cost to get me to your location.

Seminar topics can include:

  • Anger
  • Boundaries
  • Forgiveness and Letting Go
  • Healing Loss
  • Positive Communication
  • Reconnection for Couples and Families
  • Working Better Together
