What is a Personal Therapeutic Retreat?
A Personal Therapeutic Retreat (PTR) is an opportunity to set aside larger blocks of time to focus more intensively on issues, so you can quick-start your journey toward a happier and more fulfilling life. It can also be a time for retreat from the busyness we all experience and a chance to return to our deeper values and core self.
This concentrated format is particularly helpful for individuals who have suffered from trauma and PTSD symptoms, often for years with little or no resolution with traditional talk therapy and weekly sessions. Achieving a healing, life-changing shift with a clear plan and focus is one of my specialties.
A therapeutic vacation is not designed as a chance to “get away,” but rather as an opportunity to courageously turn inward.
By choosing to make time for yourself, you make an unwavering commitment to uncovering layers of yourself in the service of deep healing. While not your standard holiday, many people find intensives to be an incredibly satisfying and empowering experience, and return from them not only with new tools, insights, and greater clarity, but also more inspired and hopeful about the future.
How long does a PTR last & what is the cost?
This approach is intentionally time-limited, goal-driven, depth-oriented, and highly concentrated, making it an excellent option for resolving issues that demand immediate attention, as well as for revisiting a recurring challenge in a purposeful way. A PTR can last from one to several days or even longer. Each working session is typically about two hours in length, and most days include two sessions, allowing time for breaks and reflection.
The daily rate for a Personal Therapeutic Retreat is $1,500. While insurance companies do not typically cover event costs, we will courtesy bill for you in the event that you are able to be reimbursed by your insurance carrier.
Accommodations are available on-site at our beautiful guest ranch for an additional fee. Stay in your own luxury private cabin, with a spectacular mountain and creek view, surrounded by the healing wilderness of Montana. View our spectacular lodging options.
Is this only for individuals?
A Personal Therapeutic Retreat can be scheduled for individuals, as well as couples and small groups. Therapeutic Retreats at Forever Forward Therapy provides a wonderful opportunity for couples to set aside focused time to work through places and issues where they’ve been stuck, as well as a chance to renew and revitalize that which brought them together.
“What kind of therapy do you do?”
The therapy offered at Forever Forward Therapy is eclectic in nature, but is primarily based on the conviction that the capacity to heal is within each of us. My job is to jump start that healing ability in each client. My philosophy is to support individuals, couples, and organizations in their unique movement toward self-healing and growth. In essence, I use a holistic orientation, utilizing all of the resources each individual brings.
More specifically, I embrace a trauma-informed approach, meaning that I see past painful experiences as the root of presenting complaints and difficulties. When source experiences have been neutralized, it is much easier to change present behaviors and attitudes, as well as to prepare for future challenges.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and am Nationally Certified in Clinical Hypnosis.
